[Top Ten Tuesday] Most Anticipated Releases for April, May, and June 2019

THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE YEAR IS OVER, Y’ALL. CAN YOU BELIEVE? I don’t know about y’all but I personally feel like the first three months of the year just flew by so fast.

With a new quarter, inevitably, comes a new wave of releases. And with a new wave of releases comes a brand new pile of books to add to my never-ending TBR! Ah, the life of a bookworm.

As I did with my Most Anticipated Releases for January, February, and March post, I decided to make this post part of my Top Ten Tuesday series. As you all probably know by now, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly theme created by The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is books on your spring TBR, so my list fits in perfectly!

Classics I *Actually* Enjoyed

One of my IRL friends is an English teacher, and came over to my apartment yesterday so we could work together (and also so she could mooch off of my wi-fi). She was putting together a syllabus for her high school students, which got me to thinking about the classic books that are assigned to students every year, and their actual worth to us as readers.

The subject of classics is a Pandora’s box within the bookish community – and with good reason. There are school classics that serve no further purpose on the curriculum, and which the modern day reader no longer finds relevant or – even worse – which actively hurts the modern reader with its outdated sensibilities.

However, there are a handful of classics from my own high school and elementary school days that I enjoyed back then as a kid or teenager, and that I still enjoy now as a twenty-plus-year-old. Check them out below!

Your Tita’s Fave Romances

Belated happy Valentine’s Day guys, gals, and enby pals! I was busy last night (ya tita had a date!) and so I didn’t get to post this, but I did want to celebrate Valentine’s Day on my blog as well by sharing this list of romance recommendations!

I decided to divide this post into two parts. The first, Your Tita’s Fave Romances, talks about the romance novels I’ve read in the past year that I’ve absolutely enjoyed. The second, Your Tita’s Romance Wishlist, talks about the romance novels I have on my TBR that I desperately need to read! (Some of them came from Vicky’s list, which I’m plugging because she died writing that post y’all.)

[Top Ten Tuesday] Favorite Couples in Books

Morning, comrades! Welcome to my third installment of Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly theme created The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and moved to The Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

For today, I’ll be talking about my top favorite couples in books in preparation for February 14, Valentine’s Day! And because I am super extra, I also included an aesthetic for each couple!

(I’ll also be posting a list of my favorite romance books on Valentine’s Day itself, so keep an eye out for it!)

The couples I picked out for this list are all explicitly canon couples. I wondered if I should include some of my fave ships, but then I figured if I started including non-canon couples, this list would go on forever and ever and ever. (Holla at me, Drarry fans!)

Check out my favorite bookish couples below!

[Top Ten Tuesday] New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2018

Hey hey hey, guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! I’m back with my second installment of Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly theme created The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and moved to The Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

For today, the theme is New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2018. Considering that I only started blogging and really keeping track of my reading last year (not to mention reading diversely), pretty much all the authors I read last year were new to me. 😂

Nevertheless, I picked out ten really stand-out authors I discovered in 2018 to share with you all! Please note though that I only decided to include authors who debuted prior to 2018, so that this list would still fit the bare minimum of “New-to-Me” theme!

Let’s get started!

[Top Ten Tuesday] Most Anticipated Releases for January, February, and March 2019

Evening, my good comrades! As part of my 2019 goals to be more organized with my posting schedule, I’ve decided to participate in Top Ten Tuesday! As you all probably know by now, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly theme created by The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

For today, the topic was Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2019. But because there’s just way too many books I’m looking forward to coming out this year, I’ve decided to divide this post into quarters. So today, I’ll be talking about my Most Anticipated Releases for January, February, and March.

Whaddup, guys, gals, and enby pals! How are your holidays going so far? Have you fallen into that post-Christmas, pre-New Year vortex of weirdness where you’re not sure if you’re still on holiday? Because I have. And I have fallen hard. It is literally a struggle to get up and take a shower, you know? I just want to spend the last week of the year cuddled up in bed with my cat, reading.

(Or maybe I’m just conserving energy needed for the New Year’s Eve festivities…?)

But! I made a commitment to Shealea’s #Project14Lists (read more about it here), and I stick to my commitments where Shealea’s concerned! And speaking of Shealea, today’s list is dedicated to her!
