It’s officially been two years since I first created my own little corner here on the Internet. Woah, time certainly flies. Anyone here who’s been following my blog since its early days as The Backwards Bookshelf? What about when I rebranded to Your Tita Kate?
One of the ways I thought I’d celebrate two years of being a book blogger was to host a Q&A, and here it is! I grouped all similar questions together so if you don’t see your specific question, it may be grouped in with another that has the same answer.
My blog is turning two! *pterodactyl screeching ensues*
I never imagined that I would actually have spent two entire ass years building my little corner of the Internet, making friends, reading more diverse books, promoting my favorite authors, and learning so much about the bookish industry and content creation. But here we are!
To help celebrate Your Tita Kate’s Terrible Twos, I thought up two (sort of, I guess?) fun things we could do!
Halleu, guys, gals, and non-binary pals! Today I’m bringing to you a post that I’m super excited to write. May @ Forever and Everly started up this year’s Annual Book Blogger Awards, and urges those who will nominate to write their own blog post about it. So this is what I’m bringing to you today! If you’d like to post your own nominations, definitely check out May’s post for the categories!
Let’s get started!
Howdy-do, guys, gals, and non-binary pals! How’s everyone’s April been so far? I hope everyone’s had a good week. I know I am, and I am so excited about what I’m going to be sharing with everyone today!
Y’all know I go hard for books published by Filipino authors. And I especially go hard for books published by Filipino authors that discuss issues and events that are relevant today. Enter My Fate According to the Butterfly by Gail D. Villanueva.

Hello guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Welcome to the launch of the #EnlightenmentBlogTour! I’m very excited to be bringing you this book today because it involves one of my favorite subjects ever: Philippine myths and legends.
This shit is scary af and does not get nearly enough attention, IMO! I have been hollering for the use of Philippine myths and legends in fantasy fiction for the longest time, so I practically jumped at the chance to read this book and host this blog tour!
Featuring a Fil-Am teenaged girl who discovers her unique heritage, a warrior from a centuries-old clan devoted to keeping the peace, and a cast of characters that every Filipino reader can relate to and will love, Enlightenment introduces us to a universe that, in my opinion, needs to be explored by more authors and readers.

Hey guys, gals, and non-binary pals! After reading my and the blog tour participants’ reviews of this amazing debut novel, we’ve now come to the penultimate part of the #EverlastingNoraPH blog tour. I’m so excited to share this interview with you because not only is Marie a lovely person, she has a ton of beautiful insights about writing and getting published, especially as a Filipino author.
Ready to hear from the author of Everlasting Nora herself? Let’s get on to the much-awaited interview with Marie Cruz!
My hiatus has ended, y’all! Are you excited to have me back? 😉
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I’m all about promoting Filipino authors and books. When I heard that there were a good chunk of 2018 and 2019 traditionally-published releases were by Filipino authors, I was so excited. And when I found out that one of those releases was set right here in Manila, I knew I had to have it.
I fell so much in love with this book that I just thought the world has to know about it! And so I decided to start my very first ever blog tour (ahhhhhh?!!) to help promote Everlasting Nora!
